Exciting News and Updates!!

It has been a few months but that’s because it has been busy (among other things). Pieces for my books are starting to move again and so I have a lot of exciting news to share with you today! Updates will be below under appropriate headings! Overall, I hope you are all taking care of yourselves and that you are well.

RELAPSE Audiobook

I’ve been informed by the voice talent that recording is slated to finish up the second week of April! That means we’ll have some finishing work to do in the month of April and hopefully the audiobook of Relapse will be ready for purchase by the end of April, beginning of May! I am so excited to be able to bring this option to y’all as I know that audiobooks are the preferred method of reading for some individuals.

COUNTENANCE OF A HERO Publication Update

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Countenance of a Hero has been put on pause. The manuscript is finalized and with the publisher. It has been formatted and is ready to go. However, we’re experiencing a delay with the cover. I am completely supportive of my cover artist and understand that life happens. What I have seen of the cover draft is absolutely amazing and blows me away. It is better than I could have ever imagined. This artist really knows how to bring my rambling ideas to life. Do not despair. This book will be released, hopefully later this year. However, it just might not be the next book to be released. In the meantime, I am checking with the audiobook narrator to see if we can get that process started so that there won’t be a significant delay in the release of that.

New Book Announcement 

So, while Countenance of a Hero has been unexpectedly delayed, I reached into my bag of tricks (other completed manuscripts) to search for the next book I could prepare to share with y’all. I have a substantial backlog of books that I have written over the years. Some need only a few touchups to be ready for publication while others need a more significant overall. The book I chose is somewhere in between. I still had feedback comments and edits to make from a previous round of revisions. Once those were tidied up, I sent the manuscript to another reader for feedback. In the meantime, I kicked off the publication process with the publisher. And because I mentioned I was doing this, my sibling contacted one of our favorite artists to surprise me with a beautiful cover wrap around for this book! I just got to see the final piece of art today and I couldn’t be happier. The plan is to have this book come out within the next month or two, so May by the latest. Check back often for updates!

Vocal Writing

I did finish posting “When the Lights Went Out” over on Vocal so if you haven’t yet, feel free to check that out. I have another, more creepy short story ready to share with y’all called “Dorothy.” I just posted this one this week so feel free to check it out.

Local Events

I’ve always loved attending anime cons and I think my writing is suited to this particular audience. I will be attending one of the cons local to my area later this year and will have a table to sell my books at! The con is the Blue Hen Comic Con and is located in the state of Delaware. If you are around the area, I’d love to see you there. I am hoping to have at least two, possibly three, of my books for sale there along with a selection of art and jewelry merchandise handmade by my sibling! The con takes place in August so we have plenty of time to prepare for that. Before then, though, I will also have a table at an author showcase at one of the libraries local to my area. This one takes place during the first week of April so unfortunately the only book for sale there will be Relapse. I hope to be able to do more events like this in the future.
