GIVEAWAY
That’s right. I am giving away one signed first edition copy of my debut novel, Relapse. The giveaway will run from October 24 through November 5. Please add this book to your shelf on Goodreads and enter to win the giveaway! Sorry for the late notification! Time has gotten away from me this week.
Vocal Update
Just a short update to say that I have posted “When the Lights Went Out” chapter six to Vocal. In this chapter, our heroes, Coyote and London, enter the witch’s forest where they get hopelessly lost and must bargain with a fluorescent green witch with three cat tails in order to escape. If you haven’t read the first five chapters of this chapbook, you can find them all under the Chapters category on my account. I will get chapter seven up soon.
Reading Updates
I started, and finished, the two books in the Cerulean Chronicles by TJ Klune. You can view my full review on Goodreads. However, I will say here that I absolutely loved the set! I even added them to my Showcase page as they are great examples of the works I have posted there. Looking into TJ Klune showed me that it looks like he has at least one other series that I want to check out for my page and potentially many others. He calls himself the Anti-JK Rowling and I am all for that. We have a similar mission with our books so I am happy to have found this amazing author!
Now, I am re-reading Inkspell by Cornelia Funke. I originally read this book and Inkheart when I was younger, but I never finished the series with Inkdeath. A fourth book in this series comes out in November, called The Color of Revenge, so I would like to finish reading the set. This means I am taking a short break from my pursuit of gay stories (and also haven’t jumped back into my re-read of The Inheritance Cycle).
Writing Updates
So this is the real reason you’re reading this blog, right? You want to know what I am currently writing and what is next in my pipeline. Well, I have a few things that I am working on. Of course, I am still trying to get a second manuscript ready to publish. I think I finally have a good answer as to the best follow up. The manuscript I am currently polishing up is a magical school type story for young adult mages (think 16-30 years old). The mages train there to become stewards of society and protectors for the humans, but the Academy has a dark secret that our main character, a bat mage uncovers accidentally. By now, you’ve probably gotten some idea that I am all over the place in my writing. That is true. I hope you can also sense my passion in this hectic storm.
Next month is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. I have been a participant (and a winner) since 2010. I am planning on playing again this coming November. The project that I plan on writing is a novel I started last year. I want to finish it up next month and start the revision process. I am completely excited about this project and would love to be able to share it with you soon. If you are participating in NaNo, feel free to add me as a buddy!
Finally, I am writing a short story for the zine Window to Worlds. I will be working on that more this week. My deadline for submission is the end of November. I will keep you updated and let you know when it is available for you to read.
