Quick Updates
Thank you to all 3,613 people who entered the giveaway for my debut novel, Relapse! And congratulations to the winner!! I plan on getting the signed copy out in the mail within the next week or so. I really wish I’d had more copies to give away but do keep an eye out as I may host more giveaways in the future. I do hope that even if you did not win this round, you will keep my book in mind as you are looking for the next exciting world to enter.
I do want to acknowledge briefly that today is a bit charged, particularly for those individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community. Know that you are seen, you are valuable, and you are loved.
Vocal Update
I apologize for the delay on getting the next chapter of When the Lights Went Out posted. The past couple of weeks have been busy for me at work and in my personal life. I still need to make a few adjustments to the chapter based on feedback, but am planning on getting that chapter posted within the next few days. As a reminder, you can read the whole story under the Chapters category on my Vocal account.
Reading Update
Recently, I finished reading Inkspell and started on the third book in the trilogy, Inkdeath. While I’ve read the first two books in the past, I have never read Inkdeath so I am excited to see where this story goes, especially with the fourth book coming out later this month. I have preordered my copy, called The Color of Revenge.
Additionally, I just received my copy of Star by Erin Hunter. I’ve been reading the Warriors series for about twenty years now. It is a good place to go when I want to read something light that isn’t too heavy. It is what you might call my guilty pleasure of reading, though I feel the quality of the writing and the plotlines have gone down in recent years. Still, I enjoy the way the characters are organized. I do wish we could see some more diverse stories within this world, but I won’t complain too much.
Lastly, I will be reading Anne Rice’s Interview with a Vampire sometime this month. I recently joined a book club, and this book was next up on the docket. It feels like a book that I would not have chosen to pick up otherwise so I am interested to see how I feel about the story.
Writing Update
With November in full swing, I am diligently working on writing my 50,000 words for the month. This means that I have set aside the book I’ve been revising for publication next, but I think it will be worthwhile when I have a completed draft of League of Crime. This story is fun to write and I hope you all will have a lot of fun reading it when it is ready for publication. I will do my best to balance writing this project and revising the magic school manuscript I want to release next.
